We look to enhance our localised hiring policy to help employ those living within the districts and boroughs where are client’s premises are situated. This will be achieved by not only increasing awareness through the usual employment channels but also encouraging existing local staff to refer and recommend new staff to us. We also encourage all our staff to use public transport on all journeys to and from work.

We also look to enhance our localised procurement policy by engaging and partnering with independent local suppliers. We have a commitment to purchase core products (at least 50% of non-labour expenses) from independent suppliers local to where the product will be used or where the company operates.

We have set a milestone to reach net zero by 2025. Setting an ambitious emissions target, we look to be net zero 25 years ahead of the UK Government’s 2050 target.
The key areas of environmental impact that we are focusing on are; Eliminate carbon emissions from transport and power. Eradicate non-sustainable waste. Enhance buildings to meet the highest environmental standards. Eradicate all single-use materials from our business. Use natural, non-toxic and biodegradable cleaning products. Use ‘Last mile’ deliveries to reduce carbon footprint and emissions at all stages.

We display unique QR codes within our cleaning storerooms that are clearly visible and easy to use. Once scanned by any smart phone, the information provided includes the cleaning specification for each location, COSHH data, Product Safety Data Sheets for each product on site, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all tasks, as well as ‘how to’ manuals. Each QR code gives an option to translate into multiple languages. Our commitment for a paperless world is further enhanced by the use of our specialist software, provided by CleanLink, where all data is cloud based and easily accessed by our operational staff for site management, quality control audits, machinery and stock management, time and attendance payroll and performance reporting. We have also partnered with Mustang washrooms to offer a fully integrated barcode monitoring system, that informs you in real time when your soap dispenser has been filled, sanitary bins emptied and air freshener units replaced.

We only use environmentally friendly enzyme and plant-based cleaning products that don’t cause damage to the environment, supplied by Jangro. The paper products we use are from sustainable forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or 100% recycled. Our staff uniforms, supplied by workwear express, are created from natural or recycled materials. Each piece is a testament to our dedication to reducing water usage and pollution, while still delivering high-quality, durable workwear.

We have moved 80% of our current vehicles over to electric. These vehicles are used by our specialist cleaning divisions, such as window cleaning and estate cleaning. This will soon rise to 100%. We also insist that our partners adopt the same policy.

Through Planet Mark we have protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Our pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

As a recognised Carbon Neutral company, we are proud to have offset more than our location-based footprint of 0.2tCO2e, through Fenix Carbon, which has been independently verified by Planet Mark.

The REDD + project is located in the collective territories of Sivirú, San Andrés de Usaragá, Pizarro, ando Piliza in the Pacific coastal municipality of Bajo Baudó, in the Department of Choco, Colombia. The project, beyond protecting local forests and biodiversity, contribute to social and economic development in one of the poorest areas of Colombia.
