OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

We’re proud to announce that together with Planet Mark, we are a Carbon Neutral Business.

In line with internationally recognised PAS 2060 specifications, achieving a Carbon Neutral status demonstrates our ongoing commitment to reducing our impact on the planet and society. This is done through continuous carbon reduction and investment in accredited carbon offset programmes to mitigate our carbon footprint.

Planet Mark is an internationally recognised sustainability certification provider for all organisations and real estate acknowledging continuous progress, encouraging action and building an empowered community of like-minded individuals.

Through Planet Mark we have protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Our pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

We want to continue to have a positive impact through our business and hope that we can empower our community to take climate action. We encourage you to get in touch if you would like further details on our journey.

LOCAL WORKFORCE

We are committed to strengthening our local hiring policy by employing individuals who live within the districts and boroughs where our clients’ premises are located. By prioritising a local workforce, we aim to support community employment, reduce commuting distances, and enhance workplace sustainability.

To achieve this, we:

  • Increase awareness of job opportunities through established employment channels.
  • Encourage our existing local team members to refer and recommend potential candidates.
  • Promote the use of public transport for all journeys to and from work, helping to reduce carbon emissions and traffic congestion.

Our focus on local employment not only benefits the communities we work in but also supports our wider sustainability goals.

LOCAL SUPPLIERS

We are dedicated to enhancing our local procurement policy by partnering with independent local suppliers. This approach supports local economies, reduces transportation emissions, and ensures our operations align with our sustainability goals.

Our commitment includes:

  • Sourcing at least 50% of non-labour expenses from independent suppliers based in the regions where our products are used or where we operate.
  • Prioritising partnerships with local businesses, strengthening supply chains, and contributing to regional growth.

NET ZERO BY 2025

We have set a milestone to reach net zero by 2025. Setting an ambitious emissions target, we look to be net zero 25 years ahead of the UK Government’s 2050 target.

The key areas of environmental impact that we are focusing on are; Eliminate carbon emissions from transport and power. Eradicate non-sustainable waste. Enhance buildings to meet the highest environmental standards. Eradicate all single-use materials from our business. Use natural, non-toxic and biodegradable cleaning products. Use ‘Last mile’ deliveries to reduce carbon footprint and emissions at all stages.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS

We use smart technology to drive efficiency, transparency, and sustainability across our operations.

Our unique QR codes, displayed in cleaning storerooms, provide instant access to location-specific cleaning specifications, COSHH data, Product Safety Data Sheets, Risk Assessments, and task manuals. Each code includes multi-language translation options for accessibility.

To support a paperless approach, our cloud-based software, powered by CleanLink, centralises site management, quality audits, machinery and stock tracking, payroll, and performance reporting—all easily accessible to our operational teams.

In partnership with Mustang Washrooms, we offer a real-time barcode monitoring system for washroom services, notifying when soap dispensers are refilled, sanitary bins emptied, and air freshener units replaced.

By integrating these innovations, we reduce environmental impact, enhance efficiency, and deliver smarter cleaning solutions for our clients.

ECO-FRIENDLY PROCUREMENT

We prioritise environmentally responsible products and materials that align with our commitment to reducing environmental impact.

  • Eco-Conscious Cleaning Products: We exclusively use enzyme-based and plant-based cleaning products from Jangro, ensuring high performance without harming the environment. These products are both effective and sustainable, minimising negative impacts on ecosystems.
  • Sustainable Paper Products: Our paper products are sourced from sustainable forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), or are made from 100% recycled materials. This ensures that every product we use contributes to responsible resource management and reduces waste.
  • Sustainable Workwear: Our staff uniforms, supplied by Workwear Express, are made from natural or recycled materials, reducing waste and water usage. These durable uniforms uphold our standards for quality while promoting sustainability in every aspect of our operations.

By making conscious procurement choices, we reduce pollution, conserve resources, and actively contribute to a greener future.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES

We have transitioned 80% of our vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (EVs), which are primarily used by our specialist cleaning divisions, such as window cleaning and estate cleaning. Our goal is to reach 100% electric vehicles across our fleet in the near future, further reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to sustainability efforts.

We also encourage our partners to adopt electric vehicle policies, aligning with our commitment to a greener future and reducing emissions across our supply chain.
