Cleaning Windows using Abseiling or Rope Access
An efficient way to clean windows is with abseiling or rope access. All our window cleaners are IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) qualified technicians to ensure that anyone performing the window cleaning services can do so safely.

Cleaning Windows using Water-fed Poles (Reach & Wash)
A telescopic pole fitted with a brush delivering purified water for window cleaning. Perfect for cleaning shop windows and office windows safely to a maximum height of 20 meters. This system means we can clean windows and frames without the use of any expensive lifting equipment or compromising health and safety of the operative. We use purified water to ensure that your windows are cleaned with a streak free finish.
Hydraulic access using a fleet of MEWP’s (Mobile Elevated Working Platforms)
Hawkey regularly carry out MEWP window cleaning nationally, providing a professional service with fully trained operators and window cleaners. Available for occasional or regular window cleaning depending on your building and its requirements.
Our partner’s extensive fleet of vehicles means our window cleaners are able to reach to high levels on properties, to ensure that we are able to clean windows of all heights, where traditional methods do not allow for the reach.
All the MEWP operatives hold IPAF certifications and are highly experienced on all types of power access equipment. Using MEWPs allows for cleaning at height with a safe and secure platform to work from assuming the building has sufficient access.
Due to the nature of the equipment being used we offer an out of hours service working nights or weekends to minimise disruption to our customers, their staff and their end-users.
Cradle window cleaning
A suspended cradle is used to gain access for external window cleaning on high-rise buildings. This method is a safe and efficient way for our professional window cleaners to clean your exterior windows.
If you have an existing BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) then we can provide you with skilled cradle window cleaners for the exterior of your building. We ensure our cradle window cleaning teams are fully trained on any new contract awarded with a cradle system involved, as all BMU’s (Building Maintenance Units) are different and unique.
Our partners make sure that all SAE (Suspended Access Equipment (SAE) e.g. cradles and BMUs (Building Maintenance Units) are regularly tested and inspected to ensure that the cradle system is satisfactory before any work commences.
All jobs are completed with a Risk Assessment and a Method Statement.

Sustainable Procurement
We only source environmentally friendly enzyme and plant-based cleaning products that don’t cause damage to the environment. The paper products we use are from sustainable forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or 100% recycled.
Sustainable Innovations
We display unique QR codes within our cleaning storerooms that are clearly visible and easy to use. Once scanned by any smart phone, the information provided includes the cleaning specification for each location, COSHH data, Product Safety Data Sheets for each product on site, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all tasks.
Electric Vehicles
We have moved 80% of our current vehicles over to electric. These vehicles are used by our specialist cleaning divisions, such as window cleaning and estate cleaning. This will soon rise to 100%. We also insist that our partners adopt the same policy.
Apprenticeship Scheme
